Your new position of Business Development Manager is a fully remote sales-based one and your geographical sales remit will be national.
You will be required to attend meetings on site with your new employer 2-3 times a month in either Wiltshire or the West Midlands, therefore you will reside somewhere between these two counties ideally, or within reasonable commuting distance of those two locations.

About your new role

As our client’s new Business Development Manager, you will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for managing existing business relationships and accounts as well as identifying and growing new business accounts.
The role offers plenty of scope to use your demonstrable sales experience including:
• Planning and completing market research to identify and generate new opportunities.
• Assisting with the production of technical quotations associated with supply proposals.
• Identifying and planning a UK Sales territory and roadmap
• Visiting potential customers regularly in line with the identified sales territory road map with an expectation to be with clients in person around 2-3 days per week.
• Working cross functionally with your stakeholders in the sales team, marketing and operations
• Interacting daily with the companies CRM and ERP systems
• Liaising with the operations team and customers regarding processing sales orders
• Assisting with aftersales and queries to ensure customer satisfaction.

About you

To succeed in this role as Business Development Manager, it is important that you have proven sales experience gained from within precision engineering and as a bare minimum you will be able to interpret technical engineering drawings.
Any experience of selling into the automation, energy, automotive, rail, defence and construction sectors will be an asset to your application, as will experience within precision engineering.
The ability, confidence, and self-motivation to initiate customer contact and generate technical enquiries from both prospective and current customers with a commitment to follow through to execution is prerequisite.

In return

Your package (basic salary and car/ car allowance) will be around the £50,000 p/a mark with a discretionary bonus on top, 31 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), mobile phone, expense account, pension and other company benefits.
