We are exclusively partnered with this Swindon based client again to continue building and growing their small finance function.

These guys are on a new trajectory and are seeking out an inquisitive AAT qualified finance professional to join them as their new Assistant Accountant.

Reporting to the hands-on Financial Controller, who is very people orientated and promotes a healthy working environment, you will be an integral part of the team (you will be the 4th addition to the team) who collaborate and support each other impressively.
Team partnership is at the essence of everything they do in this hands-on finance department. Be it sharing knowledge, assisting each other when one team members workload increases over another’s or covering for each other when on holiday for example.

As their new Assistant Accountant there is plenty of scope to take on varied tasks and duties, but also to make improvements and efficiencies in their processes too. Everybody’s input in the team to make progress counts.

You will find yourself doing but not limited to:
• Purchase Ledger, including processing invoices, company expenses, bank payments etc.
• Completing Bank reconciliations for several bank accounts
• Updating monthly cashflow reports
• Producing and journalling all the intercompany charges
• Liaising with external stakeholders and internal staff regularly as required
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Prepayments, accruals and other journals
• Maintaining the fixed asset register to include additions, disposals and depreciation
• Assisting in preparation of monthly Management Accounts
• VAT returns and reconciliations.
• CIS returns
• Various ad-hoc reporting and support to the FC

About you as their new Assistant Accountant

As well as being AAT qualified, you will be someone who embraces change, which will naturally come as the business grows and the finance team responsibilities increase along with the company journey.

Being able to demonstrate working knowledge of the practices of accounting, across the ledgers is essential and ideally some basic management accounting experience is required.

You will be someone who has a strong head for systems and finding their way around them quickly. The company currently use Sage 50 Accounts and MS Share Point.

They also use Excel and extensive experience with using Excel spreadsheets daily and confident to write formulae to solve problems is a must. An excel lover if you please would be great.

You should be someone who is highly organised and experienced in managing their own workload with minimum supervision, and capable of meeting deadlines.

You will be rewarded with a salary of up to £33,000 p/a, a full office based role on a day to day basis which the current team members have decided together that they love doing and being together (but with flexibility when you really need to be working from home for emergencies).
There is company car parking on site, so you won’t incur any further costs. Their location is easy to get to as well.
